After spending his first six NFL seasons with the Titans, Jets newcomber RB Chris Johnson is ready to begin training camp with Gang Green. Johnson underwent surgery in January to clean up a torn meniscus in his knee, but has officially been given the green light for camp.

The Titans focused on upgrading their offensive line last season with the hopes of revitalizing CJ2K’s career, but the result was tumultuous, leading to his departure from Tennessee. Now in New York, the 27 year-old Johnson will look to regain his explosiveness from the 2009 and 2010 seasons, where he ran for the most yards and touchdowns in his career.
While CJ will have to fight off Chris Ivory for carries, look for the Jets to use the two in a timeshare with Ivory’s thunder complementing Johnson’s lightning in Marty Mornhinweg’s offense.
When Kellen Winslow was selected 6th overall by the Browns in the 2004 NFL draft, it was easy to imagine a mirroring image of Jason Witten in terms of consistent production at the TE position. Nearly ten years later, that hasn’t been the case. Pictured below with former corrupt Miami Hurricanes football booster, Nevin Shapiro, Winslow has never been one to shy away from voicing his opinions.
Winslow caught a TD pass on his only target on Monday Night vs. the Falcons. But despite the Jets improving to 3-2 on the night, Winslow expressed his dissatisfaction. With reporters approaching him for his comments on the game, Winslow told them “I don’t think that would be a good choice.”
On a night where Geno Smith became just the second rookie QB to capture a road victory on MNF, a Winslow tirade would have been quite comical. But, don’t fret ‘cuz, I got you.
In this edition of Throwback Thursday we travel back to 2003 and Winslow’s college days, where his Miami Hurricanes had just suffered a defeat at the hands of the Tennessee Volunteers. Winslow delivered an interview for the ages while discussing the block he threw for ‘Canes teammate Devin Hester on a sweep play.
