After spending his first six NFL seasons with the Titans, Jets newcomber RB Chris Johnson is ready to begin training camp with Gang Green. Johnson underwent surgery in January to clean up a torn meniscus in his knee, but has officially been given the green light for camp.

The Titans focused on upgrading their offensive line last season with the hopes of revitalizing CJ2K’s career, but the result was tumultuous, leading to his departure from Tennessee. Now in New York, the 27 year-old Johnson will look to regain his explosiveness from the 2009 and 2010 seasons, where he ran for the most yards and touchdowns in his career.

While CJ will have to fight off Chris Ivory for carries, look for the Jets to use the two in a timeshare with Ivory’s thunder complementing Johnson’s lightning in Marty Mornhinweg’s offense.

On the heels of a big win over the divisional rival Patriots, there are many candidates for Jets player of the game. Geno Smith, Antonio Allen, Jeremy Kerley; the official who made a pivotal 15-yard penalty call on the Patriots in overtime. But of all the people who were on the premises at MetLife stadium for yesterday’s game, it’s pretty clear who notched the “douchebag of the game” award.

As a Hofstra alumnus, it’s disappointing to see the idiot in this video wearing the jersey of Wayne Chrebet, who is a fellow Hofstra graduate. This is one of the most deplorable acts for a “man” to do and I really hope he ended up behind bars in New Jersey last night.

The long and arduous recovery process for Rob Gronkowski appears to be over.  According to Gronkowski’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, Gronk has been Tom+Brady+Rob+Gronkowski+New+England+Patriots+3O2baE3YsP-lcleared by all of his doctors (the last being Dr. James Andrew) to return to game action this Sunday vs. the Jets.  While you can probably expect Gronk to be on a snap count, he’s immediately a top-of-the line TE1 this week, even more so with Jimmy Graham on the bye.  After enduring four surgeries to his left forearm along with back surgery, the Patriots have expressed extreme caution with their star tight end, which led to conflicting reports on Gronk’s timetable to return.  With Gronkowski receiving clearance for this weekend, Patriots fans and fantasy owners alike can look forward to the season debut for one of the game’s most dynamic players.

When the Jets played salary cap roulette this off-season, incumbent starting RB Shonn Greene wound up as a cap casualty,
while the team traded a 4th-round pick to acquire Chris Ivory from the Saints. bilde

The Jets continued to add to their backfield by signing Mike Goodson, which was quickly dampened by Goodson’s gun and drug charges. With Ivory slowed by   hamstring issues and Goodson yet to report to the team, neither move has paid dividends.

Instead, the Jets have relied heavily on a familiar face; third year back Bilal Powell.

Powering Gang Green to 149 yards on the ground, Powell looked like the Jets most reliable offensive weapon in week 3 vs. the Bills. Ivory’s hamstring is considered to be a multiple week injury, leaving Powell with full control to carry the mail. Look for Powell to build off his strong week 3 performance with favorable matchups coming up vs. the Titans, Falcons, and Steelers.

The Bottom Heist: Averaging a respectable 4.3 avg and the beneficiary of a solid run-blocking offensive line, Powell is primed for a consistent workload in a shaky Jets offense.
