As someone who has been a sports fan my entire life, it has only been a recent phenomenon that I’ve come to terms with retirements of OSWALTathletes who I can say I’ve watched throughout their entire careers. Starting Pitcher Roy Oswalt definitely fits that bill. Oswalt posted a 163-102 record, 3.36 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in 13 seasons, before deciding to call it a career.

One of my favorite pitchers of the last 15 years or so, Oswalt pitched 9 ½ years for the Astros, before wrapping up his career with the Phillies, Rangers, and Rockies. Besides remembering him for contributing to numerous fantasy teams of mine in the 2000’s, I’ll always remember “Os” for this quirky piece of history.
